For fans of The DUFF, this hilarious and true-to-teen romance is Broad City meets Judy Blume.

The summer before college, Hannah swears she’s finally going to find The One. And for five perfect minutes, Hannah does find him. He’s cute and makes her laugh like crazy. She just wishes she’d caught his name, because Toilet Boy Cinderella really lacks sex appeal.

For Sam, the summer is off to a bad start for a million reasons. But for five minutes his luck changes: in a fancy restroom painted purple like it belongs in a Bond villain hideaway, Sam falls head over heels for some strange and hilarious girl. Of course, he doesn’t know her name. With his luck, he’ll never see her again, and he’ll remain a girlfriendless, moony-eyed virgin. Forever.

But another chance meeting brings them together, only to have a chance misunderstanding drive them apart . . . and then the cycle starts all over again. Madcap mishaps, raunchy hilarity, and deep romance follow these two wherever they go. For two people so clearly destined for each other, they sure have a hell of a lot of trouble even getting together.

Huge thanks to Penguin Random House International for sending me a copy of this book. This has in no way affected my review nor was I compensated for any matter.

A Totally Awkward Love Story was in fact really awkward. That is if it was me in that situation. Trust me, I would've said "WTF" so many times in that entire book.

Tom Ellen and Lucy Ivyson wrote an entertaining YOLO story of a girl and a guy, living different lives and met a party. It's a posh life, you see. Then they met again, awkwardly, at a date night. Then again at another party. Seemed like they were destined to be together. You know what they say, the universe has other plans.

While I personally did not like the whole bunch, I can pretty much say that I enjoyed reading it. The writing was exquisite. And oh my gosh, that embossed print on the flap (front and back) has me rolling on the floor. The cover was really simple, though.

Some things bother, some things don't. I did not like the part where the whole story revolved around losing ones virginity. Like seriously. There can be more than one topic a book could cover and here I thought this was a love story. Shouldn't there be like anything that has something to do with like life and love and long lasting relationship? I also did not like Stella, Hannah's best friend. She's like the Regina George in this book. She bitched the entire story. I still hate her to this day. LOL. I feel like she's pretentious and takes her being the best friend, for granted.

Another thing that this story lack was the chemistry between the two MCs. They also somehow did not make connection with me. The whole time I was reading, it felt like I was an unwanted outsider losing myself in gins and tonics. Heh. It wasn't also the laugh out loud funny I was expecting so.

Anyway, maybe if you're the contemporary book-type of person, I'm sure you'll love this book.
