Cassia Leo loves her coffee, chocolate, and margaritas with salt. When she’s not writing, she spends way too much time watching old reruns of Friends and Sex and the City. When she’s not watching reruns, she’s usually enjoying the California sunshine or reading—sometimes both. Her favorite color is lavender and her dream is to one day score a record deal based on her awesome shower singing skills.
I don't know if it's just me but I find this freaking similar to E. L. James's Fifty Shades Trilogy. What the eff is wrong with me? ((:
“He kissed the tip of my nose and I clasped my hand around the back of his neck to pull him in for a real kiss. Our lips moved slowly and tenderly in unison, our mouths sealing the promise we had just made to each other. I whimpered as a gush of happiness rose inside me and more tears streamed down my cheeks and over our lips.” - Cassia Leo, LUKE: The Complete Series
What are my first thoughts on this book? Well, I actually stumble upon this book when I was browsing through assortment of books on my laptop. I gave myself the thought that this is yet another set of adult book full of mature contents. I read the summary then here at Goodreads and decided to just give it a try.
Okay, so, to go over with this, I would just like to thank the author for deciding to make one of her characters a Filipino, a fiery Filipino. Jill Ramirez was the one I was talking about. That one was just gratifying I don't know why but maybe because for the first time, it wasn't Chinese that was referred to as an Asian!
Anyway, Brina Kingston, I find her dark, compassionate, a little stubborn, very confused, and a bit of nonchalant. She has this big thing of holding on to her past and needs the love of a person that she truly trust. She's been alone by herself, contemplating on blaming herself for the death of her brother, that she found the hardest thing that her parents could accept. For eight whole months, she inclined on two shrinks and medication to get over her depression but found not a single to help her cope up and live a happy life, well, not until Luke Maxwell happened to her.
On the other hand, Luke Maxwell is somehow similar to Brina. A little similar. He's got this same stubbornness as Brina. He's very eager to prove himself and knows that he's very wealthy and can do and get anything that he wants. The last thing he wanted to do is hurt the ones he love the most. Luke just seems like the perfect guy. That may be an overstatement (if for reals) but he is alright!
As soon as Brina applied to work for Luke, they find theirselves falling deeply for each other. That love was the best thing that happened to both of them until one day, he discovered what Brina was trying to do in exchange of her resignation. You just have to find out what comes after this scene... *winks*
Those weren't much to say but I deeply fell in love with the story. It has this very touchy power that seem to encapsulate me as I delve for more. And what I enjoyed more besides the emotional part, was the spy-ish things Milo and Brina pulled off. If you think what I'm thinking, then yes, it's that part.
Soon after, before I got the book down, I knew I was jerking a tear or two because I just can't help but just be touched at what Luke decided to do. And that baby! The author should've described him more besides that chubby cheeks I just want to pinch it so hard! I can really feel that they are very passionate for each other, savoring the pleasure they give for each, and satisfying themselves with their longing.
The whole series was a sweet escape pulsing with a very hot enticing romance that will fill up and savor each person's satisfaction. Every turn of page will put one into a whole scene that is truly moving and hard to resist. Fantasizing every scene will leave the reader for more and will never let them cease to read. This piece is woven to feel every emotion one wants to find in a good book especially those who have come to experience and deal a very hard time—this, I think, will help one to cope up with what they have to deal with. It's very emotional ranging from tear-jerking sadness, to steamy hot sex, sweet betrayal, irresistible comeback, and a happily ever after. This will bring you to a distant land that will let you experience every bit of everything in its little possible ways.
